99 Names of Allah (Asma Ul Husna) with Urdu/English Meaning
The first pillar of iman in Islam is faith in Allah. The 99 Names of Allah (Asma’ul Husna) are the beautiful and divine attributes of Allah mentioned in the Quran and Hadith. Each name describes a different aspect of His Majesty, Mercy, and Power. Nothing is more sacred or blessed than achieving this understanding and acting according to these names.
Allah says in the Holy Quran:
“وَلِلَّهِ الْأَسْمَاءُ الْحُسْنَى فَادْعُوهُ بِهَا وَذَرُوا الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي أَسْمَبِهِ سَيُجْزَوْنَ مَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ“
“And to Allah belong the best names, so invoke Him by them. And leave those who practice deviation concerning His names; They will be recompensed for what they have been doing.” (Surah Al-A’raf Ayat 180)
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“Indeed, Allah has ninety-nine names. Whoever memorizes them will enter Paradise.” (Sahih Bukhari, 7392)
